The only way to unlock your iPhone 3g

Posted August 9th, 2008 by Joanna Hulbert

NEW UPDATE 4 Feb 2009:

Apple 2.2.1 unlock/Baseband downgrade available from:

www.any-network.com

It’s so easy its unbelievable. However it took a lot of searching and a lot of wasted money on sites that guarantee that they can unlock the iphone 3g but they can’t.

If search the term “iphone 3g unlocking” on google there are 1000’s of sites claiming that they can unlock the iphone 3g via software but they can’t, they are simply wording it right to mislead you into purchasing there software .

BE WARNED YOU CAN NOT UNLOCK THE IPHONE 3G BY SOFTWARE…. BUT WE HAVE A SOLUTION

There is a difference between Unlocking the iphone 3g and Jailbreaking the iphone 3g. Unlock means to use on any network and jailbreak is to load third party software on. Anybody who claims to unlock the 3g phone by software is telling porkies they can only jailbreak it which is pretty useless as since apple has launches its app store with 100’s of ready made applications what’s the point now of jailbreaking your iphone.

HERE is the Solution

The only way you can unlock the iphone 3g is by using small sim like the one on the left. You simply place it in between your sim card and your phone. It’s as simple as that believe me i have done it and it works.

I know what you’re thinking. But i want to unlock it now and not have to wait for a sim adapter to come.

Well, this is the only way you can unlock your phone. It does have other benefits though. For instance, every time Apple upgrades their software you can simply upgrade your phone via itunes in the normal way, you won’t have to revert back to an old version to unlock it again. The sims also do not break the warranties, so in case you broke your iphone you simply remove the simcard and send away to be fixed.

Where can I get one fast ?

I got mine for Any-Network.com only because they guaranteed that if it didn’t work I would get my money back. iPhone 3g unlocking . I ordered on a Friday and it was delivered Saturday morning. Now that’s fast.

Here’s a tip:

When i first put it in my phone with my sim it didn’t work , I couldn’t get the network. I thought I had been ripped of again so i rang them up. The answer was simple. If at first the iphone does not pick up a signal on the new network all you have to do is take your simcard out and place it in another phone, make a quick call to anyone and then try again. Hey presto, it worked.

So if you want to unlock you new iphone then buy an sim from Any-Network.com . Great support and fast delivery.

Please leave your comments below.

I would like to know if anyone has found any software to unlock the iphone 3g.

I found the link via ukphoneshop.com a 2 days ago, bought one and arrived this morning. My iphone 3g is now happily using my existing vodafone contract sim as o2 coverage is poor in my area. This really does work 100% & idiot proof to install, superb.

Has anyone tried a 3UK sim card in an unlocked 3G iPhone, am very tempted to get a 3g iPhone from ebay and then use one of these cards but I just want to double check that it will work before spend the cash!

Ive read rumours on the web that 3UK sims will not work properly so if anyone has first hand experience it would be very much appreciated :)

Can anybody confirm that this will work with ANY UK phone SIM (the 3 network aside)

i.e. would I be able to use a PAYG Vodafone SIM with it, or is it purely contract-based SIMS only?

I just received one (old version, not the brand new version that does not require the cutting of the sim card)from http://www.any-network.com but they did not include any instructions on where to cut my sim card and how to install.
Can anyone tell me how to install this card?

    Thanks,
    PJC

I just bought the sim adaptor mentioned above. To begin with it wouldn’t fit in the iPhone 3g as the chip was getting caught, but I mailed the support guys and they suggested that I shave the edge off the corner of the chip. This adaptor now fits, and it’s working well on t-mobile. I did get a couple of ‘Sim error’ messages, but I think that’s because I started with the phone turned on. After a restart all is well.
