 If you’re planning to unlock and/or jailbreak your iPhone, do yourself a favor and read this first
If you search on google for iPhone unlocking your results will show thousands of websites claiming that they can unlock the iPhone by software or IMEI codes. This simply can not be done. Read the small print.

YOU CAN NOT UNLOCK YOUR IPHONE 3G 2.2 BY SOFTWARE
Many of these type of sites are complete scammers. Remember you can not unlock the latest iPhone 3G using software no matter what they say. The only way you can unlock an iphone is using a piggy back sim l. A device which goes into the phone with the simcard. To unlock your iphone 3G use the Any-Network 3g Hardware device
The sites above will take your money and sell you software that will not work or worst will BRICK your iPhone. Loading hacked software onto your iphone is not a good idea. The software is usually made by hackers  and we all know what hackers are capable of. The vast majority of any hacked software contains viruses and software which collects your details or runs up phone bills.
I’m now on my fourth iPhone because of these type of scams.
The software from these type of sites can seriously kill your iPhone. Make sure you know the difference between Unlocking and Jailbreaking. People are getting these mixed up! The one everyone needs is UNLOCKING as mentioned above this can only be done by using an Hardware unlocking.
UNLOCKING: As everyone knows, most phones are “locked” to a particular network. If you want to use your iPhone with another network, you need to unlock it. There’s no other way around it. Unlocking allows you to insert SIM cards from different networks.
JAILBREAKING: “Jail” refers to file system limitations put in place by Apple on iPhones. “Jailbreaking” opens the entire iPhone file system for use. Once jailbroken, you install the latest free games, ringtones, etc. If your iPhone isn’t jailbroken, you have to get all those applications through the Apple Store .
The above websites and many more, sell programs to help you jailbreak your iPhone but NOT unlock them even though they clearly claim they are “unlocking” .
How do they get away with it ?
They will take your money and send you a file which will replace the entire software on the iPhone. Immediately voiding your warranty. Even if you reset the iphone apple can tell the phone has been jailbroken and they can / will disable the phone in the near future turning it into a expensive paper weight or brick. The file they send use to work with the older iphones but not the new ones everyone has today. Not the latest firmware
Once you find out that the software does not work they count on you not to ask for a refund. If you pay by paypal you can claim the refund but it can take upto 30 days. Almost all of the sites will definitely refund you via paypal to avoid being limited by the system. PayPal only have to refund you if the seller con not prove delivery. (Remember that as it might help).
If you pay by credit card, you will find it even harder to get a refund. In some cases the only way you can get your money back is to do, what they call a “charge back”. Contacting your bank and requesting clawing back the money direct. This can take upto 60 days.
THEY COUNT ON YOU NOT ASKING FOR A REFUND.

These software sites are totally scandalous. How is it that PayPal and Google tolerate these guys ? False Claims and No Morals ! I’ve been done twice ! Resorted to the only reliable solution - a piggy back sim !
On the any-network site mentioned there offering a free gift set for any one who has unlocked an iphone 3g 2.2 using software.
This obviously says it can’t be done.
This is utter rubbish. Just follow the instructions on **** to unlock your 3G iPhone running 2.2 software for free.
hiya i have a i phone which used to be on contract i think.. it was stolen an i bought it without knowing that. its blocked atm an i was wandering if i could get it blocked some how an put a pay as u go sim in it?

You can not unlock the iphone via software anymore if you have upgraded via itunes. You use to be able to but it only works on an older baseband and with apple updating the software all the time its stopped working even the creators of the orifinal software hack have said this on there blog.
Apple are just about to update to v3 firmware with MMS and Video so there would be no point. Hardware is the only way and does not void your warranty .

Sounds like the IMEI is blocked by the network. The only way you can unblock is by changing the IMEI on the phone . Which is higly illegal and hefty fines or maybe jail due to anti terrorism laws..
DONT USE “SOFTWARE” , BEC THEY JUST TAKE YOUR MONEY AND U CANT USE THE PROGRAM…
