Any-Network release unlocking for iPhone 3g 2.2 with baseband update

Posted November 26th, 2008 by Chris

NEW UPDATE 4 Feb 2009:

Apple 2.2.1 unlock/Baseband downgrade available from:

www.any-network.com

Yes its true. Any-network.com announce they are the first to unlock the iPhone 3g with the 2.2 firmware update including the baseband update from iTunes. .

The device will be available in the morning

This Device is available NOW

on www.any-network.com ’s website.

As there are no other solutions available yet to unlock the new 2.2 version this will be a big relief for those of you who upgraded to 2.2 by using iTunes and noticed that your Piggy back sim stopped working.

The reason why these devices stopped working was due to the latest upgrade also updating the baseband of the phone to 02.28.00. which cannot be downgraded and make all existing unlocking devices to stop working. That is until now.

Before you go rushing off to by the v3 device please read this statement from Marcel Walsh (MD of Any-Network.com).

Since the release of 2.2 we have been under a lot of pressure to find a workable solution. Understandably we have been inundated with calls and emails regarding issues with the iPhone 2.2 and the new baseband update. Our programers have not sleept since . LOL

We take great pleasure in anouncing that we have a working version of our device on the new 2.2 firmware with the baseband upgraded. We have tested the device on a number of iPhone 3g models - see pictures below. We are waiting feedback from our overseas testers and if we have no problems the new device will be posted on our site in the morning 27/11/2008 GMT time (UK Time).

Its been a long 6 days and we are over the moon that we are the first to have finally solved the problem. We now have the job of programing thousands of any-network devices. Then maybe we might get some sleep.

The devices we tested all function as normal without the need to turn off 3g data like early reports. All functionality and ehancements with 2.2 firmware perform perfectly.

“”"”"”"”"”"”"”"”"”"”"”"”"”

Marcel also stated that they are bringing out a programmer so that users can program their own devices in the future. Our devices are specifically programmed for the iPhone 3G unlike some of our rivals. Our in depth knowledge and experience with the iPhone 3G has been proven in that we are the ONLY company to offer this workable solution.

UKPS News have tested all the available solutions out there and can’t wait to get our hands this new version and start using our iPhones once again, on any network. We decided to upgrade our phones and test the available device we had from our last experiment. NOT one worked with the new 2.2 firmware. Rebel simcard, Turbo Sim, Gravey Sim all were useless. We tried with 3G on and off as some claimed they worked with 3G off. We will post our results soon here.

Have a look at our “unlocking comparision chart” from our initial results.

Shown below are images clearly stating an unlocked iphone 3g with 3g coverage on the new 2.2(5G77) firmware and Modem firmware (baseband) 02.28.00.

So does this mean that all I have to do is purchase this device and my iphone 3g with 2.2 update will work?

When will this device be available?

    Thanks,

    Hi Guys,

Just to let you know that we’ve had feedback from our international resellers. Very promising. No faults reported as yet .

Before we can roll this out we need to know that it is 100%. Well at least 99% as sim-proxy unlocking is not the best of solutions but at the moment the only one until the iphone Dev-Team come up with one a software unlock .

I will keep you up to date as things progress through out the night . So far so good were still on track for the release n the morning.

Keep checking back here or on our website.

If you leave a comment on here, UKPS news should notify you when I reply.

    regards

Marcel. (a very tired Marcel. lol)

    Hey Marcel,

Are you working with any-network to solve this problem? So would you know when this device (sim) will be released for us to purchase? Why do you say this is not the best solution? I thought dev-team already have come up with a way to jailbreak iphone 3g 2.2. So isn’t that the software unlock you’re referring to?

    Thanks,
    Jennifer

Guys, great work….have been pulling my hair out this week and not much left! I have restored my “broken”iPhone to 2.2 after downgrading to 2.1 and having no effect on the baseband. Shall I stick with this and just get the update from you guys in the morning or does the iPhone need to be on other firmware??

Thanks and look forward to the fix

    Hello guys,

Thank you so much for coming up with the v3 device. I just have a few questions regarding to this item before I purchase it.

I am currently living in U.S. and I have t-mobile. So if this device does not work for me, can I return it and get my money back? Also, you said something like I can use edge with my iphone, but if I have t-mobile, I am not paying for the edge service, can I still have edge?

Before I updated my phone to 2.2, I had the turbosim and what I did is put the turbosim beneath my real t-mobile simcard. Does this v3 work the same way?

    Thank you so much.

you can only buy it direct from any-network.com. That’s the reason why they are not releasing the programmer yet.
To stop all other companies around the world copying the unlock solution on to there own devices.

This is funny… They have changed there tagline on the front page to “Were not REBELS were the good guys that unlock almost anything” LOL

I think this is a dig at a company which copies there software.. lol

Has it been tested in Canada? India? I am a Rogers subscriber in Canada, but would like to use a SIM from an Indian provider on vacation next week. Will this allow me to do so without voiding my warranty here in Canada?

Hello! I have read that if the version2.2 is made with Jailbreak, you can unlock with nothing. Then with 3V is this possible or not?
