Yes having your mobile phone with you all the time is now a part of peoples way of life, especially young people.
We all know that banks love to use any excuse to levy excessive bank charges, even if you only exceed your agreed overdraft limit by a few pounds the charges can be quite penal.
Well at least one bank Lloyds TSB are trying to help, for a modest fee of £2.50 per month you can subscribe to their Limit Alert service, they then will send a text message to your mobile phone warning you that you are close to your overdraft limit.
Now that the mobile phone networks are making more and more mobile phone packages available including sim only packages that you can use in your existing mobile phone not owning or using a phone does not make sense and escaping a couple of excessive overdraft charges could pay for the cost of your mobile phone deal for many months
